“I got into cars at an extremely young age. My grandfather was a general contractor on the east coast who built and raced cars in his spare time whether it was on the drag circuit or stock car oval track. He had almost every year Stingray Corvette from the 60’s through the 80’s. He always drove hard and with a purpose, totaling a couple of them in the process. That trait definitely stuck with me,” says Collin Berry.

“He took me to races at a young age and the car bug bit me hard. The first car I bought was a Mitsubishi Lancer Ralliart. I quickly grew bored of the minimal power and sold it for an 08 BMW 135i. I had fun with this for about a year but after having a high pressure fuel pump, low pressure fuel pump, water pump, and hydraulic DTC module fail, I decided I wanted with something with more reliability and getting back to my roots, a big rumbling American V8,” says Berry. Let’s dive into this 2014 Sterling Gray S197 coyote build, shall we?

Berry wanted a bare bones manual 5.0 with the Track Pack option. It took him 6 months to find the right one for the right deal, but he ended up getting the last Track Pack 2014 manual base new 5.0 Mustang in the state of California. The icing on the cake was that it was Sterling Gray Metallic. The rest is history.

Future plans with the car include either a Paxton or Whipple blower with E85, in addition to McLeod clutch, stickier tires, full wrap (secret color ;), cowl hood, quad tips and valance with custom built diffuser. We’ll definitely be following this build as it progresses into the next phase.
