“I remember when I first bought the car. I said ‘it’s perfect how it is, I’m not doing anything to it.’ And now I’m here…” – Chris Gibson

Within just two weeks of buying the car, Chris Gibson started to customize his 2014 S197. He took it back to the local dealership where he purchased it from and had them install MagnaFlow competition series cat-back exhaust to deepen the exhaust note a bit. Then he shortly followed that up with putting on a set of white Niche Verona’s with machined face – 20×9 in the front and 20×10.5 in the rear for an aggressive, staggered stance wrapped in Nitto NT555R’s. We all know the mods don’t stop after installing exhaust and a set of wheels…

Shortly after, Chris came across a local mustang club in Houston: Houston’s Legendary Stangs. He decided to check out an upcoming meet with them and was amazed by all the other local Mustangs; this really opened up the door to a roadmap of future modifications. That’s where it all started for him.

“I went and did my homework and found out what I wanted done to it. And within just 5 months time, I had all my body work and bolt-ons done,” says Chris.

“As I furthered my build after the bags, I noticed new wheels were a must. I needed a more premium luxury wheel that would fit the aggressive stance to my car, so I went with some Vossen Flow Formed VFS2 custom white powder coat done by Royalty Metal Finishing, with a polished face: 20×9.5 in the front and 20×10.5 in the rear, wrapped in Nitto Invos 235/30 in the front and 285/40 in the rear,” says Chris.

Mod List:

Exterior: 3″ Harwood cowl hood, Roush upper grille and lower grille delete, Stillen chin spoiler, GT500 rear spoiler, MMD tail light and mirror covers, and MGP caliper covers. All painted to match the factory Oxford White paint.

Interior: Custom mounting and hardline set up done by CVT Designs.

Engine: First phase – BBK cold air intake, BBK 64mm throttle body, BBK long tube headers with BBK shorty x-pipe.

It didn’t stop there for the performance. In about 2 short months of enjoying full bolt-ons, Chris came across LPF, Limitless Performance and Fabrication, a local performance shop who quickly talked him into doing a 67mm Comp turbo set up. With the addition of the turbo kit, Chris’ 6-cylinder S197 is now putting out 545 rwhp and 540tq on 11psi with all stock internals tuned to e85. This sixxer is sure to give many coyotes a run for their money…

Suspension and Drivetrain: Accuair air suspension with e-level management, 3.73 gears, Driveshaft Shop aluminum one-piece driveshaft.
